Exceeded expectations!
Works fantastic, the fish were hugging the bottom which was confirmed with my friends hummingbird, battery was at half after aprox 5 hours! Easy to use. Only downfall is that it is not waterproof and a bit hard to see in direct sunlight, but you can’t have everything for 80 bucks. I’ll probably use this for a year or so then upgrade. But for now this is really a nice product.

If it proves durable, it will be money well spent.
We have a two-person pedal kayak that we take out, find a cove to toss the anchor and relax in the water. Wanted this mainly for depth finder and to get some idea of any structure below us before tossing the anchor. Our kayak has a mount for a specific Lowrance fish finder but too much money for my blood. Drilled a big hole in the removable panel on the bottom and zip tied the transducer to the bracket on the panel. Routed the cable inside the body of the kayak and put the main unit in a rail mounted cup holder. Worked immediately. I had the brightness at 6 and I could make out the depth and some of the details on fish and bottom shape without trouble. Blocking some of the direct sunlight with my hand made the screen very easy to read. Maybe a shrouded bracket to mount it on a side rail would be perfect. Good investment for the money.

Nice for float tubing
I had an interesting experience with the first one that I got. It worked fine right out of the box, but after a couple of uses it became intermittent. The problem became worse over the first two months of ownership. I found that the cable just above the strain release was where the problem was. I reported it to Amazon and they replaced it without a hassle. This new one is great. I am pretty sure that if I had to do it over again I would get the wireless version rather that the cable one that I got.I find it very useful in knowing where not to fish rather than where to fish. I think I will get more and more benefit from it the more I use it. So far seeing the depth at which the fish are really helps.

Works but screen hard to see in sun and charge doesn’t hold
I’ve used the battery-operated version of this for about five years, replacing it twice as eventually it stopped working. We crab in an open boat and it’s hard on a non-waterproof handheld item like this. I decided to try this one due to more of a view of the bottom, So far fairly good. It shows fairly good detail. The color screen can be hard to see in the sun, and it has way too much line for our use. The float slips from where you place it on the line very easily as well. But overall it is a very useful device. The jury is out on how long the charge will last in use.Update: the unit is rechargeable which sounded good but the battery does not hold well enough for a few hours crabbing or fishing. It’s also nearly impossible to read in bright sun. I’m returning it.

I haven’t used this fish finder for very long, but so far it seems pretty decent. I haven’t used many fish finders, but when you turn the fish icon on, it seems to register anything floating in the water as a fish. It also seems to register tiny freshwater shrimp as large fish as well. I’ve turned the sensitivity up and down, and I get the same results. I have 3d printed an arm to run between the mounting plate attached to the kayak and the sonar sensor, so that I can flip the sensor up out of the water as needed. I also 3d printed an arm that holds the screen that attaches to the Kayak as well. Now I am experimenting with having a small 5v solar panel hooked up to it, as I am sure I will be fishing long hours. So far that seems to be working.
