This is the best fish finder in this price range, the features and image quality is excellent! They are not exaggerating on the ad photo’s it really does look like that. I think Humminbird makes the best fish finders, it’s feature rich and very intuitive and easy to use. I’m still learning to use all the different modes but mega side and down imaging is unbelievable! It paints a clear and accurate picture of what it looks like down there. This is a much more affordable alternative to live scope. Not Johnson Outdoors fault, but I’m a little disappointed that this one won’t connect to my Ipilot Minn Kota, but they do make a model that does that, its just more expensive. I an very happy with this and look forward using on my boat this when the ice melts.

Helix 7 Fish Finder Sonar for Kayak Fishing
Wow, technology has advanced a lot since my last Humminbird 25 years ago! This fish finder is full of great features. I find the Helix 7 to be a good size for me to view seated in my Salty PDL 120. Easy to view screen in all fishable weather. I do usually limit myself to two views at a time. Lots of Youtube videos to reference for tips from basics to advanced. The key is to spend time on the water getting to know the interface.(only clear pic is from a day I was throwing fly poppers; when bass bite is off, throw flies)

Hook up power cord to make sure unit is working properlyI bought one for my boat and I like it so I bought one for my brothers boat because his was out datedLooked brand new and started to help install itHe said it’s not powering up and didn’t think we should replace the old one so we returned it and went with a Lowrance with similar featuresI’m thinking about replacing the one I bought as well
