Bought for my husband to help with ice fishing. He took it out on the ice (over 30+ inches thick) and it read incredibly well through the ice. He was impressed… and if you have a fisherman, you know that can be hard to do with gadgets lol.He knows the lake very well but ice gives it a different adventure. He said it read depth, rocks, weeds, etc… very well. They drilled through the ice and he used it in the water too. We did buy a case for it and I recommend drying it off before storing (should be common practice for all water gadgets). I was concerned with the price being so low, but honestly it does what it says!

Don’t use while ice fishing
Not good for ice fishing. Depth of fish is hard to find. Most the time it just shows constant fish going by even tho there isn’t. Just spend the $500 for a real sonar.
