    Fantastic Chartplotter
I can’t tell you all how excited I am to have a new navigation system with a new outboard on my 86’ Boston Whaler. The possible links between the outboards and the Garmin system are giving me a chubby. I will let you know how it goes.

    Hubby’s happy…enough said!
I’m married to a very meticulous man who has never really embraced technology. He has spent his life fishing primarily on Lake Erie. He’s had brand loyalty to Lowrance since the beginning of fish finders. He’s had his HDS for several years and never did get the hang of using it to its full advantage. He bought a fishing boat last fall and gave the family cuddy cabin to our son for his family. Only problem was our son couldn’t afford a sonar unit for it and didnt feel comfortable taking it out without one. So, being the type of parents/grandparents we are, we passed the Lowrance on and started the search for one Hubby could actually use and benefit from. While he continued to look at Lowrance, I walked over to the Garmin display. Wow! What a difference a brand makes! The salesman kept comparing the Lowrance Hubby was considering to the Garmin, and now I knew why. So, I suggested Hubby take a look at the Garmin. He was so impressed by the graphics and comparative ease of use, he was sold. Now that he’s had time to play with it and use it at least once on Lake Erie, I am happy to report I have a happy spouse. And of course, happy spouse, happy house! Since I haven’t actually used it, I don’t feel comfortable giving it 5 stars. But I can recommend it.

The Garmin Echo map is an excellent tool. Coupled with the Live scope and you can see what depth and distance the fish are from you. I made transducer handles for the live scope and echo map transducer at a much cheaper price. The only problem is this doesn’t catch the fish. It also doesn’t see your flies for trout like it does for bass.

I have been very impressed with the Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 95sv with GT56 Tranducer. The large screen size is really nice to have, especially in setting up your dashboard to show multiple options (sideview, chartplotter, and sonar).Installation was very straightforward, and I was able to start using the unit straight out of the box (didn’t have to mess with any settings right off the bat). Now that I have used it more, I have customized the settings a bit to my liking/use. I was very impressed that the sideview mode showed a sunken canoe on the bottom of the first lake I tried it on, within the first 5 minutes of unloading the boat. Clear image of the bottom, and helps you get on the fish more efficiently. A real game changer!I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this setup, and glad I decided to install it on my fishing boat.

  13. Nicely done boots, I use them in the salt water and I haven’t had any problems, I clean them with fresh water every time I use them in salt water then dry them.

It’s a very good GPS the more you use it the more you learn about it you can hook up to your phone. You can do a lot of things with this like I said the more you use it the more you learn it is good.
